Does anybody know what Rich DiPietro did when he accompanied Frimark to meet Daley back in June ’05? Hold Howard’s coat? Buy him lunch?

After being one of alderpeople who kept us in SOC all those years and helped Wietecha blow $650,000 of city money on that goofy Peotone deal, you’d think DiPietro would figure he owed us one and pay attention to O’Hare expansion, but he seems to have been something less than useless.

Adn from the minutes and memo’s in your post, it looks like Jeanne Markech did more in two years to point out trouble with the OMP than her fellow second warder DiPietro did in all his years on the Council. Good job, Jeanne. Suck on it, Rich.

Apparenty Frimark couldn’t even muster enough interest and initiative about the ONCC to make the motion to adjourn, he only had the chops to second it.

Looks like Frimark AND the Council had plenty of head’s ups about what was happening at O’Hare, or at least that they should start paying attention. Guess the mayor was too busy looking for police station land deals for his buddies.

I can’t say whether or not Alderman Bach has made any reports to the city council on his participation or the issues raised from his attendance at ONCC meetings. I do not recall reading anything in the city council minutes.

However, I believe it is an unfair shading of the situation to “blame” Alderman Bach for the local press’ failure to pick-up on anything he might have reported; my presumption being that he might have made reports that the press, once again, failed to cover.

BTDT…and I actually feel sorry for the 3rd ward doofus on this count.

I checked the ONCC minutes posted on its website and it looks like Ald. Bach has been a pretty regular attendee at the ONCC meetings. But I don’t recall reading in the papers about him reporting anything. Does he just sign in and leave, does he sit there but nod off, or what?

Thank you for posting some background on this topic.

Nobody can say they were not warned about what was coming. Even Frimark cannot say that, as we can see here.

I did go looking for information on this topic. I found a post on the city web site that talked about the flight caps being lifted, and Don Bach made some statement, but I don’t remember anything being said in the papers or at any meetings.

I could have missed it or I simply don’t remember it.
