The connection is the EDC. When EDC funding was cut by the then City Council, due to that fact that aside from padding their own nest did nothing, its only paid staff (Sharon Curcio) directed all her efforts into getting Mayor Frimark elected.

Wanting to make sure all bases were covered, John Kerrin (who co-sponsored the Mayor's Council reduction) hosted a dog and pony show on behalf the EDC for the Aldermanic candidates running in the first contested city races in 2003.

The Mayor and Owen Hayes served as officers and I believe, although I'm not sure, The Mayor himself served as president of the good old EDC.

A trip to the county building to examine the economic disclosure statements filed by elected officials might provide some information. Of course they would of had to reported it.

Does anybody know what other properties in Park Ridge (besides their own residences) still are or have recently been owned by Owen Hayes or any other elected officials?

The facts and circumstances surrounding Mr. Hayes and his efforts to sell the former Foot and Ankle Surgeons (now Avenues to Independence) building on Busse Hwy to the City for a new police station back in March 2004 are too numerous to address by simple "Comment" and will be the subject of an upcoming PublicWatchdog article.

But the shorthand response is that: (a) Mr. Hayes was a member of the EDC at that time; (b) he did try to get the City to buy the property for a new police station; (c) he did not tell the City that at the time he offered it for sale he (along with his wife) was set to become its owner within two days; and that if the City had done the deal at the price it was prepared to offer, Hayes would have made a gross profit of $200,000.

So yes, that would definitely qualify as a "fast dollar" in our book.

At 422 Northwest Highway - Dawn Disher and Owen Hayes were part of that LLC (Do your homework and take the time to look it on the disclosures) Owen Hayes was also on the EDC during the time that the police department initally announced they wanted to build a bigger station. Perhaps Mr. Hayes got an inside tip and then purchased the property on Busse Highway to see if he could make a fast dollar.

Hoover, I think you're right about the Jaycees, at least as to Frimark, Ryan and Hayes. I think former 5th Ward alderman Steve Huening was also one.

Unlike "freedom" being "just another word for nothin' left to lose," the words "temporary waitress" will remain just that - at least until the Park Ridge Police, the Cook County State's Attorney, or a Circuit Court judge or jury give us a reason to do otherwise. Because while we do know that she was working at the PRCC that day, that doesn't automatically mean she was a "working girl."

As for the "uninformed in the community," if they really want a clue they will be able to find it here at PW.

"Temporary waitress" is another word for... ?? Why do you and the press continue to use such a description for the "staff" that helped out at the PRCC event?? Call a spade a spade, would ya?
The balance of this report is no surprise. One can only hope that the uninformed in the community will see this sort of information here or potentially picked up by the local press and get a clue.
God help us all...
